Not all roads lead to Rome… some lead to Wigmore!
There were plenty of tired legs and big smiles as staff, parents and governors from Wigmore Primary School completed an incredible 28-mile fundraising walk from Wembley Stadium to Wigmore on Saturday 13th June. We were proud to support the challenge with a donation.
Setting off from the stadium at 7am, the walkers – including two of our brilliant installers, Dan and Vasile (known as TT) – made their way through Hertfordshire before arriving back at the school playground at 6pm, successfully completing the challenge.
The fundraiser is helping to raise £12,000 to transform the school playground into a more engaging and inspiring space for pupils. Planned improvements include new activity trails, educational features such as times tables grids and world maps, as well as dedicated learning zones designed to support maths and literacy skills. The aim is simple: to create a playground that enhances the personal development and wellbeing of the school’s 600+ pupils.
Beyond the fundraising target, the walk represented something greater. It highlighted the power of teamwork, resilience and community spirit, bringing together local families, businesses and supporters behind a shared goal.
The project also has a personal connection for us. As mentioned, two members of our installation team, Dan and TT, took part in the challenge, and both have children who attend the school.
While we often showcase the more visible side of our work, this was a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on the people behind the scenes. Our installers are the backbone of Bay Media and Dan and TT have been valued members of the team since 2007 and 2009, respectively. They work tirelessly to install, maintain and remove campaigns, helping to keep everything running smoothly.
When they shared this initiative with us, we were delighted to get involved. It provided a meaningful way to support the people who support us every day, as well as the communities they are part of.
Commenting on the community and his involvement, Dan shared:
“From day one, once the idea came about, my wife and I have been more than happy to help by participating and donating to this cause. When we moved to the area over eight years ago, we arrived with our little one and quickly discovered how supportive the community is: people help each other, share their stories and are there for you when needed, the perfect place to live. Because of this, I’ve always felt that I should give something back to the people and the town. That’s why I’ve been helping with a football team, and now I’m more than happy to support the school where my child receives such excellent education and opportunities.”

Reflecting further, he added:
“I feel the same way in my work as well; I’ve met incredible people and always found the support I needed. It’s something I’m truly grateful for and I thank you so much for your help too.”

This sentiment was also echoed by TT, who said:
“We really appreciate your involvement in our children’s future wellbeing. Happy children, happy parents.”

As these comments demonstrate, at the heart of this initiative is a strong and connected community working together to create something better for the next generation.
We’re incredibly proud to have supported this cause and everyone who took part in the challenge. Congratulations to all the walkers on completing such an impressive achievement and helping to make a lasting difference for the school.
