Carbon Reduction Plan
Supplier name: Bay Media Limited
Publication date: 16th March 2026
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Bay Media is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
- Baseline Year: 2022/23 (July 2022 – June 2023)
- Additional Details: This was Bay Media’s first year of emissions reporting, calculated with support from Planet Mark. The baseline includes emissions from electricity, natural gas, fleet travel, waste, and paper procurement.
Baseline year emissions:
- Scope 1: 63.1 tCO2e
- Scope 2: 1.1 tCO2e
- Scope 3 (Included Sources): 0.2 tCO2e
- Total Emissions: 64.4 tCO2e
Current Emissions Reporting
Reporting Year: 2024/25 (July 2024 – June 2025)
Current year emissions:
- Scope 1: 61.9 tCO2e
- Scope 2 (Market-based): 0 tCO2e
- Scope 3 (Included Sources): 16.1 tCO2e
- Total Emissions: 78.0 tCO2e
Emissions Reduction Targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets. We project that carbon emissions will decrease to achieve a 60% reduction against our baseline footprint by 2029.
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2022/23 baseline:
- Planet Mark Certification: Achieved our third consecutive year of Planet Mark certification, committing to continuous improvement in sustainability.
- The Future Forest Project: In partnership with The Future Forest Company since 2021, we offer a scheme where we plant a broadleaf tree in the UK for every 10 banners bought by a local authority and for every £1,000 spent by participating clients. This contributes to carbon sequestration and biodiversity enhancement. As of our latest update, we have planted 6,178 trees through this initiative.
- Logistics: Optimised transportation and logistics by basing installation teams locally and carefully managing work schedules to reduce emissions.
- Fleet Updates: Sourced and utilised environmentally friendly vehicles meeting London ULEZ requirements.
- Bay Recycle: Continued the Bay Recycle program, ensuring post-campaign PVC and fabric banners are recycled through a trusted partner.
Future Measures
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
- Continue and expand the tree planting initiative with The Future Forest Company.
- Further optimise logistics and transportation to reduce emissions.
- Explore increased use of ReActivair coating on print applications to help offset air pollution.
Explanation for Omitted Categories (Scope 3 Alignment)
The PPN 06/21 Technical Standard requires reporting on Scope 3 Categories 4, 5, 6, 7 & 9. While Categories 5 (Waste Generated in Operations) and 6 (Business Travel) are actively measured, Categories 4 (Upstream Transportation and Distribution), 7 (Employee Commuting), and 9 (Downstream Transportation and Distribution) are currently omitted from our total emissions figure.
For the 24/25 reporting period, Planet Mark measured homeworking emissions (13.6 tCO2e) under Category 7; however, this was explicitly excluded from our overall carbon footprint due to methodological limitations surrounding homeworking data accuracy.
As a small enterprise where direct fleet operations represent the vast majority of our footprint, staggering the addition of these complex Scope 3 supply-chain categories is necessary to establish effective data reporting processes without impacting our day-to-day operations. We are working closely with Planet Mark and commit to having these remaining categories manually measured and fully integrated into our reporting by the 2026/2027 certification cycle.
Declaration and Sign Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans. Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
