Client Stories – The Monte-Carlo Masters

When the Monte-Carlo Masters comes to town, there’s always a buzz in the air. The world’s top tennis players gather on the clay courts of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, just a stone’s throw from the glamorous principality of Monaco. With a history that spans over a century and a who’s who of tennis royalty in its roster of past champions, the event is a highlight of the ATP Tour Masters 1000. Among the greats who have graced the tournament, Rafael Nadal stands out with his record of eight consecutive titles between 2005 and 2012.

At Bay Media we regularly provide out-of-home advertising for sports events, and our lamppost banners have become a key part of this tournament’s promotion.

This year, the tournament was nothing short of spectacular, as Andrey Rublev claimed his first Masters 1000 title by defeating teenage sensation Holger Rune in the final.

Bay Media has been a proud partner of the Monte-Carlo Masters for many years, and we were delighted to once again have the opportunity to contribute to the event’s success.

The 2023 Campaign: Capturing the Spirit of the Tournament

For this year’s campaign, we installed 95 double-sided banners (190 faces) throughout the 0.76mi² principality, featuring 18 different eye-catching designs. As in previous years, the designs primarily focused on the players themselves. Seventeen different banner designs showcased some of the world’s best players, from Djokovic to Tsitsipas, in a striking black-and-white format. The monochromatic palette allowed the players’ personalities and athleticism to shine through, whether they were captured in the heat of on-court action or posing for studio shots.

To add a splash of colour and a touch of local flavour to the mix, a further ten banners utilised a vibrant, art deco-inspired aerial view of the clay courts, the nearby beach, and the surrounding bay. These vivid banners, a stark contrast to the black-and-white player portraits, served as a stunning visual reminder of the event’s picturesque setting.

The Impact: A Lasting Impression

For two weeks leading up to the event, our lamppost banners made a statement throughout the principality. The combination of player-centric designs and captivating local scenery proved to be a winning formula, capturing the imagination of both residents and visitors. As a result, the banners played a crucial role in fostering excitement and anticipation for the tournament, showcasing the power of out-of-home advertising for sports events.

Our ongoing partnership with the Monte-Carlo Masters highlights the effectiveness of out-of-home advertising in creating a buzz for prestigious events. Bay Media’s expertise in lamppost banner campaigns has contributed to the event’s continued success, and we’re proud to contribute towards bringing this iconic tournament to life. With another memorable year behind us, we eagerly await the opportunity to showcase our banners in next year’s Monte-Carlo Masters.

Promoting sporting events with out-of-home advertising helps our clients reach a wider audience, captivate fans, and build a lasting impression, ensuring their event's success.
