Manchester Welcomes the BRIT Awards

As Manchester prepares to host the BRIT Awards this weekend at Co-op Live, the scale of the event is already visible across the city’s streets. To help build the atmosphere and guide fans, Bay Media has partnered with Manchester City Council to deliver a wide-reaching out-of-home campaign, showcasing the impact of effective event advertising in Manchester.

Strategic City-Wide Placement

The installation features around 240 lamppost banners strategically placed across the city centre and surrounding areas. The campaign captures day-to-day footfall in the host city, greeting visitors at major arrival hubs like Manchester Piccadilly Station and Manchester Central.

From there, the banners line key thoroughfares and cultural hotspots, including the Northern Quarter, Deansgate, Oxford Road, and Corporation Street. They also act as wayfinding along the last-mile approach routes to Co-op Live, dominating Ashton New Road and Alan Turing Way to guide fans directly to the venue.

Driving Event Awareness

The campaign artwork, which will be on display until the 1st of March, features two distinct but complementary designs providing excellent overall awareness.

The first design highlights the new BRITs Fringe festival, operating under the ‘Manchester Seen and Heard’ banner. Run by Brighter Sound and supported by the council, these fringe events celebrate Manchester’s rich grassroots music scene and local talent.

The second design serves as a highly visible reminder for the main awards ceremony. Whether catching the eye of pedestrians in the city centre or drivers heading toward the arena, the bold banners build local excitement while encouraging the wider public to tune in and watch the ceremony live on ITV1 and ITVX.

Supporting Major Cultural Events

This project continues our strong relationship with Manchester City Council. Bay Media has been working with the council for many years, printing, installing, and maintaining lamppost banners for a broad range of projects.

It also builds upon our wider experience in supporting major cultural and music events across the UK. Much like our campaign for the MOBO Awards in Newcastle last year, this project highlights how well-placed event advertising in Manchester and beyond can contribute to a city’s vibrancy and connect with its community.

We are looking forward to an incredible weekend of live music, and we hope to continue supporting Manchester’s vibrant events scene in the years to come.

If you are planning an upcoming event and are interested in exploring out-of-home advertising, our team would be happy to help. Please get in touch to discuss your campaign.
