This spring, we have partnered with out-of-home specialists OOH Yes to bring Uniqlo’s latest campaign to life across some of the UK’s busiest retail destinations. Spanning five major locations, the campaign uses 50 lamppost banners to target shoppers at street level.
Running from mid-March to mid-April, the campaign captures a seasonal shift in weather and in mindset. As winter layers give way to lighter, more versatile wardrobes, Uniqlo’s presence across these high-footfall environments feels both timely and intuitive.
What makes this campaign particularly compelling is its dual purpose. While part of the activation focuses on a local, time-sensitive store reopening, the wider rollout delivers a cohesive national message around Uniqlo’s premium linen collection.
A Brand Built on Simplicity and Purpose
Since opening its first UK store in 2001, Uniqlo has built a reputation for redefining everyday clothing through its “LifeWear” philosophy, with timeless pieces designed for modern living. Rooted in its vision as “a modern Japanese company that inspires the world to dress casual,” the brand champions understated style that resonates with today’s consumer, where versatility and longevity matter as much as aesthetics.
Central to expressing this identity are Uniqlo’s Global Brand Ambassadors. Tennis icon Roger Federer and acclaimed actress Cate Blanchett front this campaign, embodying the quiet confidence and enduring appeal that define the brand. Both figures are known for their excellence and elegance, making them natural extensions of Uniqlo’s aesthetic.
The creative execution on the banners reflects this perfectly. Dressed in crisp linen shirts, Federer and Blanchett are presented with a sense of ease and simplicity. The visuals are clean and uncluttered, mirroring the product itself.
A Moment in Covent Garden
At the heart of the campaign sits a key local moment: the reopening of Uniqlo’s Covent Garden store.
Following a major expansion, the store reopens tomorrow on the 26th March, with a 30% increase in retail space. The redesign introduces new experiential elements, including a UTme! customisation area, the RE.UNIQLO Studio for repair and recycling and the brand’s first UK Japanese tea room, Katsute100. Expanded childrenswear and dedicated space for the Roger Federer line, further enhance the in-store experience.
To build anticipation and drive footfall, ten strategically placed banners line New Oxford Street and Shaftesbury Avenue. Key routes within a five minute walk of the store, these placements are designed to intercept an audience of commuters, theatre-goers and shoppers.
The messaging on these banners is intentionally direct. In contrast to the broader brand storytelling seen in the other locations, these banners focus on immediacy to ensure shoppers know exactly when and where to be.
A Wider Story: Premium Linen for Spring
Beyond Covent Garden, the other 40 banners shift focus purely on promoting their product, the Linen Collection. Placed across major retail hubs including Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross, Westfield Stratford, Westfield White City and the Bullring in Birmingham, these banners align perfectly with the shopper journey. Positioned along key pedestrian routes and entrances, they capture attention when shoppers are most receptive.
Collaboration at Its Best
While the campaign delivers visually, it’s also a testament to long-standing collaboration. We have been working with OOH Yes since 2018, delivering a wide range of campaigns, from large-scale events at the ExCeL to high-profile fashion activations.
This partnership is built on a shared understanding of how to use out-of-home media effectively: combining strategic placement with creative clarity to achieve real impact. In this instance, that collaboration has enabled a seamless integration of local activation and national branding within a single campaign.
As Uniqlo’s Covent Garden store reopens its doors and the spring season unfolds, this campaign stands as a strong example of how thoughtful placement, clear creative and trusted partnerships can come together to deliver meaningful results.
A big thank you to the team at OOH Yes for their continued collaboration and we look forward to seeing how shoppers respond in the weeks ahead.
